Mason Owen

Mason is a welcome addition to our Cedar Rapids Basepoint Tax & Accounting team adding valuable tax preparation, financial, banking, and mortgage experience. He grew up in Missouri and received his undergraduate business degree from Hannibal-La Grange University and his MBA from William Woods University in Fulton, MO. He values and seeks out new learning opportunities and considers himself a life long learner.

Asked about how he approaches client relations and his work style he remarks, “I am adaptable to client engagement preferences and take a comprehensive approach to tax planning depending on a client’s circumstances. This includes leveraging available resources to communicate options for tax treatment alternatives. To be a valuable partner with individuals and local businesses is intrinsically fulfilling and motivates me to be as knowledgeable as possible".

Outside of the office Mason has a variety of hobbies and interests including numerous outdoor activities, skiing, traveling, cooking, gardening, and zymurgy, which is the process of winemaking and brewing. He enjoys spending his downtime in the company of his family & friends, mini golden doodle Jax, and cat Aspen.
