John joined Basepoint Tax with a clear focus: to help clients feel confident and stress-free when it comes to their tax needs. With a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Coe College with concentrations in Accounting and Economics, John brings a strong analytical foundation and detail-oriented mindset to every client interaction.

Originally from Algona, Iowa, John has always been drawn to teams—whether on the basketball court, in the office, or working side-by-side with clients. He describes his work style as transparent, flexible, and meticulous. His approach to tax preparation centers on clarity and peace of mind, making sure clients feel supported and understood every step of the way.

John is QuickBooks Certified and currently pursuing his Enrolled Agent license, reflecting his ongoing commitment to growth and professional excellence. He’s also passionate about giving back and has been active in food packaging volunteer efforts—a tradition he’s eager to continue in his new community.

Outside of the office, John enjoys playing golf, basketball, and pickleball, and cheering on his favorite teams—the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and LA Lakers. A favorite quote that inspires his day-to-day approach comes from Nick Saban: "Every day you wake up, you’re entitled to nothing." It’s this mindset that drives his dedication to both his clients and his colleagues at Basepoint.
